ANTIQUE DAMASK UPHOLSTERED BARREL CHAIR
early 20th century
1 avail.
24.75" L x 34" H x 20" D
$975.00

Striking side chair artfully reupholstered in Ralph Lauren Collection damask with passimenterie tone on tone trim. Original horse hair removed and restuffed. We acquired this gem in a fine antique store back in 1986 & have adored it ever since. Despite advice to the contrary, we had a furniture maker install casters so that we could use it as an office chair. That was short lived as evidenced by the discreet damage to the base of the two front legs where the casters were installed. The removal of the casters in no way discredits the functionality of the built to last chair, bit left us with some remnants of wood glue & some cracking. The seat also has some subtle spotting (undoubtedly coffee) which we have made no attempt to remove.

63" H X 40.5" L X 1.2" D
$295.00

Two heavy solid wood circa 1850s outdoor shutters have been reinvented to be a room divider / partitian. Under the Annie Sloan blue grey chalk paint, "Paris Grey" is a peacock blue color. We left the layered paint edges curling around the raised panel edges so as not to take away the age of the shutters. May be used to convert a room to two sections, for a dressing area or at a right angle to create a corner hide away. Heavy & durable!

A functional industrial piece, which can be used as a book shelving unit or for kitchen or bathroom storage.

The piece has a tend to wobble with heavy items on it. We've had it secured with a hook & vintage sailor's rope to display, copper ware, bowls, & with S hooks for our aprons & towels. A vintage, primitive gem for the eclectic, creative soul.

Note:
Casters have been replaced with contemporary plastic casters for ease of functionality. Some dowels are missing as illustrated & there is some wobble to the piece when heavier objects are placed on it (particularly on the top shelves).

Great thing is, for urban living, the storage is vertical rather than horizontal & thus depletes very little floor space. Powerful storage without the space consumption!
